Private Access to Possum Kingdom
The Gaines Bend Marina is a residents-only facility on one of Texas’s most celebrated lakes — and it operates like everything else here: quietly, without fuss, and for the benefit of the people who live here.
Possum Kingdom Lake is 20,000 acres of clear, deep water with no commercial development on its shores. Access from a private marina changes the experience entirely — no waiting for ramp space on a holiday weekend, no strangers at your dock, no public launch chaos.
The Marina Is Being Rebuilt Right.
New floating docks, improved slip layout, and upgraded infrastructure are currently being installed at the Gaines Bend Marina — designed to serve the community for the next generation.
The new dock system replaces aging fixed structures with modern floating docks engineered for Possum Kingdom Lake’s water level fluctuations. Each slip is deeper, better positioned, and easier to access than what came before.
The design intentionally avoids the overcrowded, utility-rack feel of commercial marinas. Spacing between slips is generous. The dock walkways are wide. The whole layout prioritizes ease and privacy over squeezing in maximum slip count.
Construction is being phased to keep existing access available throughout. Full completion is targeted for Spring 2026.
Land That Has Outlasted Everything
Covered & Open Slips
A mix of covered and open slip configurations accommodating vessels from 18 to 40+ feet. Resident assignment on a first-come basis.
Deep-Water Access
Positioned in one of the deepest areas of the Gaines Bend cove. Year-round usable draft even in low-water conditions that challenge other PK marinas.
Shore Power
30-amp and 50-amp shore power at all slips. Metered and billed directly to slip holders. No shared circuits.
Ample Parking
Dedicated parking at the marina for slip holders and their guests. Trailer parking available with advance coordination through the community.
Launch & Haul Access
Private boat ramp for slip holders. No queuing behind day-use visitors. Launch and retrieve on your schedule, seven days a week.
Water & Connectivity
Fresh water at each slip. Wi-Fi coverage across the dock area. Basic sanitation station onsite. Fuel available at nearby commercial marina for PK.

The Gaines Bend Marina is not open to the public, not available for short-term rental guests, and not accessible from a public road. It exists for one reason: to give the people who live here the best possible access to one of Texas’s finest lakes.
Slip priority is given to property owners. The list is intentionally kept smaller than capacity to ensure quality of access over revenue maximization.
